Registration Information

Many literacy and professional development organizations use their conference as a fundraiser to sustain their organizational work. For now, WE LEARN strives to offer a quality and financially accessible event for all participants at the most affordable price we can offer.

Being mindful of the current economic situation and tightening budgets, we have only slightly raised the rates to correspond with anticipated expenses. These are “break-even” rates and don’t quite subsidize ABE student participants. Your additional donation to the Student Scholarship Fund will be greatly appreciated.

Registration Fees include:

·        ALL conference events

·        Food: breakfast, lunch, & snacks on Friday and Saturday

·        Friday evening reception for Women’s Perspectives Student Writing Celebration

*** Except where noted, these rates apply ONLY if registration is received by Feb. 26, 2010. ***

After Feb. 26, on-site per day rates will be applied.

·        All meals include vegan and vegetarian alternatives. We also try to mark items with nuts. We are working with our vendors to supply healthier options.

·        Large print materials available with request (please give us one-week notice).

·        ASL Interpretation available with request (please give us 2-3 week advanced notice)

·        We will attempt to meet any other accommodation requests with 2-3 week advanced notice.

Scholarships & Work Exchange

·    For ABE students only, we can help with registration fees and some travel expenses. Individual students may apply directly or programs may register students in groups. These scholarships are made possible by donations to the Student Scholarship Fund in memory Elizabeth Morrish.

·    For Americorp/VISTA volunteers, college or graduate students, & part-time teachers, we have a limited number of work exchange opportunities available. This will help offset registration fees ONLY.

Deadline Feb. 5, 2010

Do you have Talents to Share?? - Join the Fun!

In addition to formal presentations by invited speakers and workshops, we would like to invite ALL conference participants to join the (Net)Working in a variety of ways. As in the past years, we will provide art-making space.

ALSO, we want to encourage additional informal participation. We hope to provide designated spaces for poetry reading, music-making, body movement, skits or performance art and other forms of expression. We are also trying to arrange a showcase of talent on Friday evening following the Women’s Perspectives Student Writing Celebration.

If you’d like to participate in these activities, please check the appropriate boxes on the registration form and someone will contact you with more information.
