WE LEARN is a membership organization. We STRONGLY encourage and welcome the participation of members and friends in the work of WE LEARN. We invite you to take the WE LEARN Action Pledge!

• By taking the WE LEARN Action Pledge, you will help WE LEARN to pursue projects most relevant to the needs and interests of the network of members.

We know you are an advocate for social justice for women. Literacy and basic education provide important foundations for women's access to community, resources, power, and survival. Your actions to support WE LEARN will keep the work of WE LEARN moving forward.

Within the next year, I pledge to do one or more of the following activities. I will…

Be a voice. I will speak out for the rights of women to have access to literacy, basic education, and relevant women's learning resources.

Become a member of WE LEARN.

Encourage at least one friend or colleague to become a member of WE LEARN.

Attend or help organize the WE LEARN Annual (Net)Working Conference and membership meeting.

Help to distribute the women & literacy issue of The Change Agent to literacy centers in my area.

Assist with fundraising for WE LEARN.

Promote (or purchase) WE LEARN's publications.

(for Teachers) Develop at least one lesson plan using women's literacy resources or integrating women's issues. I will then to send it to WE LEARN to include on the Educator's Resources section of the website.

(for Students) Send at least one of my writings to be included on the WE LEARN website student writing collection.

(for Researchers) Write at least one article or summary discussing important research on women's literacy. I will send it to WE LEARN to be included on the WE LEARN newsletter and website research collection.

Write a review of one of the publications on the WE LEARN Resource List and send it to WE LEARN to be included on the WE LEARN newsletter and website research collection.

Write an article for the WE LEARN newsletter.

Connect with members of WE LEARN in my region of the country and develop projects supporting women's literacy in your area.

Send a donation to financially support WE LEARN projects (such as the annual conference or the Elizabeth Morrish Memorial Student Scholarship Fund).
